EARLY ACCESS 0.5 BUILD 2454 HOTFIX (MAY 2024)[]

  • Upgraded Unity version to prevent issue causing some players to get stuck in the loading screen
  • Fixed issue where Special Rivals could come back after being defeated. If you currently have that problem, they should be gone again in the patch!
  • Fixed some issues causing AI store prices to be set incorrectly

EARLY ACCESS 0.5 BUILD 2449/2450 HOTFIX (APRIL 2024)[]

  • Fixed mouse clicking. Previously, if you clicked and held the mouse for more than 0.14 seconds, it wouldn't recognize that you clicked an item, and would treat it like you clicked and dragged the mouse instead. We have changed this behavior, and everything seems to work much more smoothly now!
  • Fixed a couple ways you could recruit/poach the same employee multiple times.
  • Fixed issue that was causing a few people's Uncle Fred tutorial to go back to an old objective

    • Price Manipulation - If a rival lowers their selling prices below market value, you might have to lower your prices on those items as well to avoid losing customers.

Coding Revamp[]

  • Rewrote office demand is calculations
  • When you enter the store, customers should already be inside
  • Customers return their shopping basket instead of walking out with it
  • Customers no longer leave at midnight
  • If a cash register closes, the customers will shift to a different cash register, instead of leaving
  • Cash Register / Checkout Counter times should much more closely match the simulation (except Fast Food and Coffee Shops)
  • Fast Food and Coffee Shop employees now only visit each station one time per customer. If the customer orders 5 burgers, the employee grabs all 5 at once, which helps speed up the flow.
  • Increased FPS (20+ FPS increase in some cases), especially at night and in low performance machines!
  • Lowered VRAM Usage over 30% - Under highest settings, VRAM usage went from 6.1 (EA 0.3) to 4.2 (EA 0.4) Gb
  • Lowered Memory Usage nearly 10% - Memory usage went from 3.6 (EA 0.3) to 3.2 (EA 0.4)
  • Reduced lagging/hanging when exiting the game
  • Optimized game loading. Especially massive saves now load significantly faster - Game with over 125 businesses went from 11+ Minutes (EA 0.3) to 47 seconds (EA 0.4)

  • Existing Camera Coverage is now indicated when you place a new camera. This would allow you to see what is already covered when you're placing additional cameras.
  • The amount of theft has been reduced. Thieves were a little too active.
  • Security Guards now have Security Vests to make sure you know they mean business!

  • Taxis were flipping over and causing chaos. We asked them to stop.

  • Cleaners forgot how to clean, and stores were being called dirty even when they weren't…that should be fixed now.
  • We told the AI to calm down and leave a few buildings for the player! If you're already in a saved game with no free buildings, it might take a few weeks for it to balance out, but after that, it should be a lot easier to find available buildlings.
  • In EA 0.2, Uncle Fred starting sending you to the wholesaler to get deliveries, but with a $1,000 delivery fee, that was a bit unreasonable. It's now much easier to handle at $400.
  • If your business was temporarily closed, the employees weren't getting credit for their 4-days a week or 5-days a week demands. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the "MarketInsider" objective to display twice for some languages instead of showing the proper business school objective.
  • Employees should no longer ask for insurance at 50% skill. They will wait until they are closer to 100%.
  • Insurance has a 10-employee minimum. Previously, if you had fewer than 10 employees, the insurance wouldn't activate. Now it does activate, but you pay for the 10 employee-minimum.
  • Previously, if you tried to get Gold Insurance but your HR Manager was too low level, it just didn't offer you Gold. Now it shows you Gold but explains why you can't get it.
